And a great time was had by all....

On Tuesday the Centre hosted it's first Shrove Tuesday pancake breakfast since before the COVID pandemic hit in 2020. A busy team of volunteers prepared and served 30 delicious breakfasts to an appreciative audience.

As always, these events don't happen without a team of dedicated volunteers. So, a special thank you goes out to Jacqueline Draycott, Brenda Guiney, Nora Hammell, Brian Cairns, Joyce Monette, Karen Cairns, Brian Needham, and others I may have missed. (It's always risky to name individuals in case someone gets forgotten - if I've done so in this case, please accept my apologies.)

How to fix Calendar issues

Some readers have recently been experiencing issues accessing the Calendar on our web page. Typically they are presented with a 'Prove you're not a robot' prompt and a reCAPTCHA window that won't accept a valid response.

It will look something like this:

Assuming your browser is up to date, this is most likely being caused by a compatibility issue between Apple's Safari and Google Chrome.

There are two ways to resolve this:

1. The easiest (and recommended) solution is to simply change your browser to Google Chrome. Other browsers such as Firefox, or Microsoft Edge should also work, but we haven't tested them.

2. If you want to continue using Safari, changing the security options has been known to work in most cases. Here's what to do:

- Go to Settings on your device (iPhone, iPad)

- Select Safari in the list of applications

- Scroll down to the Privacy and Security settings and click off the 'Prevent Cross-Site Tracking' option

Note that this option is NOT recommended as it can allow third-party entities (businesses, advertisers, etc.) to track your browsing history. Here's a fuller description:  https://veepn.com/blog/how-to-stop-browser-tracking/.
